This Marathon tier list ranks all 8 Runner Shells for Season 2: Nightfall, launched June 2, 2026. Shells are ranked across five modes: overall, solo extraction, squad play, ranked, and beginner. Rankings are based on community testing, Mobalytics tier data, and Boostmatch meta analysis, updated through the July 21 mid-season patch (Update 1.1.5).

Season 2 Meta Summary

Information and survivability rule the Season 2 meta. Recon and Triage form the dominant squad core -- teams that combine scanning with full revive capabilities consistently outperform those that don't. Assassin leads solo play. Sentinel is the new defensive shell designed for chokepoint control, strongest in squad play and Night Marsh specifically. The Cradle progression system allows full stat reallocation at any time, meaning shell builds can adapt as the meta shifts. Mid-season Update 1.1.5 (July 21) kept its balance pass at the weapon level -- KKV redistributed away from headshot reliance, D54 pulled back, WSTR adjusted again -- so the shell hierarchy holds through mid-season; the headline addition is Vault Breaker, the limited-time PvE mode now extended to August 18.
